Grand Theft Auto (Grand Theft Auto, or GTA,literally means "Grand Theft Auto",is a video game series created in the UK by Dave Jones, and later by brothers Dan Hauser and Sam Hauser. The game was developed mainly by Rockstar North (formerly DMA Desigen)and distributed by Rockstar Gaming, under the name of the GTA series taken from a term referring to car theft.


The game series takes place in fake locations similar to American cities,the game focuses on a free world where the player can choose tasks to do, as well as participate in side activities, all activities and events that take place, adventure, and driving. The series gained controversy based on the nature of adult content and the violent themes of the game. The series focuses on heroes (protagonists) who try to reach their goal by committing crimes, although their motives for doing so vary in each game. Opponents are usually the ones who betrayed the protagonist, or who has the greatest impact in hindering the hero's progress in the game.
